Apply now for second semester intake

StudentsIf you are looking to undertake postgraduate study on campus at Macquarie University, now is the time to apply as the closing date for second semester is fast approaching.

Programs on offer for internal second semester intake include both full fee paying courses (with the opportunity to defer with FEE-HELP) as well as Commonwealth supported places.

Postgraduate Certificates, Postgraduate Diplomas and Masters programs are available across all University divisions. Some of the programs on offer include:

Master of Commerce in Business
This degree provides an opportunity to acquire an interdisciplinary understanding of business with a concentration in at least one major area of business activity.

Master of Early Childhood
This program provides candidates with an opportunity to undertake advanced study in early childhood, to enhance their professional knowledge, and extend their knowledge of related areas.

Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations
The Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations will assist students in developing an understanding of the political, social, economic and legal processes and institutions of the international system.

Master of Arts in International Communication
This program focuses on how messages of 'modernisation' are promoted to and received by audiences and how promotion of 'modernisation' through communication strategies affects development in society and identity in individual and international public relations.

Postgraduate Certificate in Environmental Law
The Postgraduate Certificate in Environmental Law is available to both lawyers and those without a law degree. It is designed to meet the needs of those with an interest in international environmental law.

Master of Sustainable Development
The program aims to develop the participant's practical skills in strategic planning and management, action research, education and capacity building, community consultation, facilitation and evaluation.

Master of Information Technology
The Master of Information Technology program provides the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in key growth areas within the information and communication technologies industry.

Master of Translating and Interpreting
This course is designed to meet the needs of those who have good linguistic skills and are seeking to develop professionally as translators or interpreters. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and French are currently available.

How do I apply?
Applications for some programs must be lodged through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). Applications for other programs are lodged directly with Macquarie University. The 2007 Coursework Program Schedule sets out the method of application.

If the coursework schedule indicates that you must apply directly to Macquarie University, contact the Student Enquiry Service sesinfo@mq.edu.au for application information or visit www.mq.edu.au/postgrad/forms.html to access an electronic copy.

If the schedule indicates that you must apply through UAC you can either contact the Student Enquiry Centre for a hard copy of the application form, or visit UAC's Apply-By-Web facility www.uac.edu.au/postgraduate.html

International students who are not Permanent Residents of Australia must apply to the Macquarie University International Office www.international.mq.edu.au

Closing date
The final closing date for internal/on campus applications is Saturday 30 June 2007.
