Academics from all over the University - including psychology, health and chiropractic, audiology, and biological science - will be on hand at Macquarie University's Postgraduate Expo to answer questions from prospective students.
To be held on Tuesday 11 April from 3 - 7pm, the Expo will feature a range of experts from across the University.
Whether you are considering postgraduate study by coursework (Postgraduate
Certificate, Diploma or Masters) or research (Masters, Masters Honours or PhD) in the near future or further down the track, you can explore your interests, clarify your options and make plans.
Postgraduate research
Macquarie University is one of the country's leading innovative research universities. It consistently ranks in the top 10 Australian universities for Australian Research Council Discovery Grants awarded to its staff, Federation Fellowships and the establishment of major national research centres. These significant successes contribute to the University's research strengths and provide additional opportunities for postgraduate research in a range of interesting fields.
Programs in Psychology
Coursework and research programs in Psychology at Macquarie University provide comprehensive training in psychological research methods and statistical procedures. PhD and professional doctoral programs emphasise a theoretically rigorous, scientific approach to the gathering and evaluation of information, the solving of basic and applied research problems, and in the clinical area, clinical assessment and psychotherapy.
Macquarie University's Psychology research programs are internationally recognised and span fields including: animal cognition and behaviour; cognition and perception; neuropsychology; learning; clinical, counselling and organisational psychology; health psychology; social, personality, and developmental psychology.
Psychology research program advising
Macquarie University's psychology programs satisfy the requirements of registration boards in each Australian state. While requirements differ slightly, they all demand the completion of four years of full-time academic study in psychology and two additional full-time years of postgraduate training or supervised workplace experience.
You can find out about all of Macquarie University's Masters and other research programs in psychology by visiting the Lincoln Building, Senate Room 310 between 3pm-7pm. Academics from Psychology will also be on hand in the E7B Courtyard.
