Interested in international communication, media, anthropology or critical thinking? Macquarie University's Postgraduate Expo provides the perfect opportunity to have all your questions answered about these topics and more.

To be held on Tuesday 11 April between 3pm - 7pm, the Postgraduate Expo will feature experts from across the university including those from the Division of Humanities as well as the Division of Society, Culture, Media and Philosophy.

Whether you are considering postgraduate study by coursework (Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma or Masters) or research (Masters, Masters Honours or PhD) in the near future or further down the track, you can explore your interests, clarify your options and even make plans.

Postgraduate research

Macquarie is one of the country's leading innovative research universities. It consistently ranks in the top 10 Australian universities for Australian Research Council Discovery Grants awarded to its staff, Federation Fellowships and the establishment of major national research centres. These significant successes contribute to Macquarie University's research strengths and provide additional opportunities for postgraduate research in a range of interesting fields.

Academic advising

At the Postgraduate Expo you can obtain study advice from academic experts in courtyard booths set up in Building E7B. Academics from areas such as Humanities and the Division of Society Culture Media and Philosophy will be on hand to answer your questions.

Department of International Communication information session

Global communication is a rapidly evolving field of study, influenced by the rise of post-cold war political systems, terrorism as a global threat, interactions between cultures, and the rise of electronic commerce. 

You can find out about Macquarie University's Master of Arts in Global Communication Practice and Master of Arts in International Communication, at an information session from the Department of International Communication. The session, to be held in Building F9C, Room 133 between 3pm - 7pm, will be followed by presentations of DVD/video productions from former students. Division of Society, Culture, Media and Philosophy information session

Critical thinking is a skill valued by most employers, and one that can be used in all aspects of life. If you're interested in developing your critical thinking skills, and putting current issues into context, then the Division of Society, Culture, Media and Philosophy may have the course for you. With programs in Aboriginal studies, anthropology, critical and cultural studies, media, philosophy, social inclusion and sociology, there's a wide range to choose from.

In addition to academic advising in Building E7B, the following ten minute information sessions will be held in Building C3B, Room 501:

Prospective students are invited to join academic staff and current postgraduate students for a drink and an informal chat at the other Expo events located around Building E7B.

Free parking

At the Postgraduate Expo, parking is free on campus from 2pm.
